I've loved the journey and where I am right now is incredible. Making it into the draft pool again, Camille didn't make the cut, but then came In his third year competing at the top of the Australian region, Camille entered the draft pool once again and this time his dream had come true.
The grind of committing himself to gaming as a genuine career path started as a hustle on the side, that quickly blossomed into finding himself on an NBA roster. But it wasn't always smooth sailing as he navigated competing in the Australian timezone, growing his streaming channels and fighting to get his name in front of GMs and scouts. I did something that no one's ever done and created a 'draft hopeful' video. I like this idea better as you see nothing above the playfield.
Like I said, Williams flipper assemblies are easier. Pull the backstop rubber out and replace it with a micro switch with it's activation arm through the rubber's hole. Get the activation pressure of the micro right and you've now got "rubbers" that won't wear out. The actual electronics is fairly simple.
One "one shot" circuit driving a transistor and another "one shot" to made a timer circuit and of coarse, completely isolate this from the machine's electronics, not as hard as it sounds but very important. This original homebrew idea was going to use the flipper working on a factory bumper circuit with it's switch to activate it during game play using the bumpers coil as no holdup winding is even needed and no electroncs required when used this way.
Machine just thinks it's driving a bumper but it is now a flipper. A bit like a Gottlieb series 3 "kicking target" only better especially if it had a Williams "banana" flipper bat just to mix things up a bit.
Stern Pinball next title….. Yes this could have been cheaper by weaving 1 line through all 6 wings, 3 on each side but I would not have got the individual flash patterns, Anyway they are made of glass not plastic for optical clarity, so encapsulating them into a solvent based panel they will be less prone to crazing and premature failure Obviously 6 doesn't hit that 1.
First off I pulled the CRT out and removed the chassis to give it a good clean. Using something similar to simple green I spray it on and let it soak in. The washed it off with a slow running hose and used a toothbrush lightly to get out the grime. The CRT was able to be adjusted in to get an image from the original white screen by adjusting the Flyback and colour gain pots. Upon further inspection of the CRT Resistor R was blow which looks to be linked to the vertical adjust.
