No speakers or headphones are plugged in windows 7 toshiba
The easiest way is to connect headphones. If the headphones work but the internal speakers do not, it's possible that the computer thinks that headphones are connected when they're not. When you plug in headphones, most computers automatically cut the sound to the speakers.
Try connecting and disconnecting the headphones repeatedly. This can dislodge dust that might be stuck in the headphone port. Many computers have three or more jacks that connect to a sound card or sound processor, including a microphone jack, line-in jack, and line-out jack. Your speakers or headphones should be plugged in to the line-out jack. If you're not sure which jack this is, try plugging in to each of the jacks to see if any of them produce sound. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the sound driver.
Step 1: Right-click the Start button and choose Device Manager. Step 2: Expand Sound, video, and game controllers and right-click your sound card to choose Disable device. Step 4: Restart the PC and see if the speakers or headphones not plugged in Windows 10 issue is solved. If no speakers or headphones are plugged in after trying the above ways, update the sound card driver in Device Manager by following these steps below. Step 2: Let Windows search for updated driver software. If it finds one, it will download and install it on your computer.
Step 2: Go to the Playback tab, right-click the audio device you are using and choose Disable. If you are using a Realtek sound card, you can disable front panel jack detection in its manager. This is helpful to fix the unplugged speakers or headphones error. Step 2: Go to Connector settings and turn off the option — Disable front panel jack detection.
No speakers or headphones are plugged in? Ronnie Vernon, can you help me with this issue? Everything was working like a charm, but Yesterday I renewed all my drivers, chipset, video and so on.
Had no problems with audio, but decided to change the driver form 2. After installation something happend. Now system is not recognizing my speakers Creative 5. I even tried to uninstall the driver and roll back to 2.
Tried with speakers and headphones. Same probem happens even with the preinstalled drivers that come with windows. What is going on??? Definitely, there is nothing with hardware, as it is ok on another operating system.
Windows 7 is the best OS, no doubt, in spite it is RC Hope such problems will not bother us in full version Thanks in advance. Alexei Iudin. Saturday, September 19, PM. Ronnie et al, Let me add my voice to the previous post. I'm having the exact same problem with my install of Win7.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Stephen S. Monday, October 12, PM. You know, I dont wanna stir up a bees nest here, but Im really getting sick of seeing Ronnie give very VAGUE information, and then mark it as the answer, without letting another moderator do it. You should not be allowed to mark your own answers unless you create the thread. As you can clearly see, the post was NOT answered, yet to all other readers at first glance, it appears answered.
I can make a list of at least 10 threads in which i have seen this happen, and only with Ronnie. Dont get me wrong, Ronnie is very knowledgeable, and I dont want him to stop posting, but I would like for him to stop marking his replies as answers, and let another moderator do it, if its necessary, but in this thread for example, right after ronnies post, the user states he followed the direction, and the issue still persists. Am i the only one that sees this?
If Im wrong Im sorry, I just try and see things in a fair light. Further more, he didnt even wait for response, and marked it answer as soon as he wrote it.
Not right. Tuesday, October 13, PM. And it is not correct etiquette to post a "hanger" to someone else's thread. You should start your own thread. This is NOT the answer. I had this same issue and fixed it by installing a new 'optional' windows update.
Check to see if any 'optional updates' are available. For me it was an update for creative sound bla bla bla.
